IT Project Engineer / Managed Services Implementation Lead
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated IT professional to lead the project management and implementation of managed IT services and applications across new and existing client environments. This role is critical to ensuring successful client onboarding, smooth transitions, and secure, scalable IT solutions. The ideal candidate is technically strong, organized, collaborative, and comfortable taking ownership of complex implementations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage IT projects related to onboarding, transition, and expansion of managed services for clients
- Implement and maintain managed IT and cybersecurity solutions, including:
- Remote Monitoring & Management (RMM)
- Antivirus (AV) and Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR)
- Identity Threat Detection & Response (ITDR)
- Email security solutions
- Cloud-to-cloud backup and additional backup solutions
- Other cybersecurity-related tools and applications
- Manage onboarding, transitions, additions, and changes within client Microsoft cloud environments, including Microsoft 365 and related services
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee project timelines, deliverables, and technical execution
- Collaborate with and supervise technicians assisting with project work to ensure quality and consistency
- Serve as an escalation point for complex or critical service tickets when needed and available
- Ensure implementations align with best practices for security, performance, and documentation
- Communicate clearly with internal teams and clients throughout project lifecycles
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience implementing managed IT services in client environments
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft cloud technologies (Microsoft 365, Azure AD/Entra ID, security & identity tools)
- Experience with RMM platforms, endpoint security, backup solutions, and cybersecurity tools
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an MSP or managed services environment
- Project management experience or formal training
- Security-focused certifications or Microsoft certifications
- Experience mentoring or supervising technical staff
